Deerborn “Young” Fal Deerborn-

The soul of the group

Description:
Bio:
The second youngest of eight children, Deerborn was born sickly, and shipped off with an aunt who had studied under a (now disappeared) birthing woman. Returned healthy a month later, Deerborn was quiet through the rest of his infancy. His family assumed he was either dumb, impaired, or a changeling. Though always quiet, eventually it was established that he was probably of at least average intelligence. Deerborn was taught to wrestle by his oldest brother, Spenser, the current Giant’s Teeth champion. Deerborn himself is aspiring to be the village champ, even if it’s his brother he has to dethrone. Being so young, he really has no job within the family hierarchy, and doesn’t even have to work on the dock most times, though if the gang is there, he will be as well. The three other members of the gang are the only people who know how smart Deerborn really is. As reserved and shy as he usually is, most of the town assumes that he’s somewhat slow, or at least not very bright. He has no problem with people believing this, as it means that he can usually just ignore them. Also, he hates bullying, a view that he’s impressed upon Allayad. That’s one of the reasons they are so well regarded by all the others in their peer-group. While not as talented with a single sword as Allayad, Deerborn is the best all-around fighter. He uses his size and strength to his endurance, able to withstand a beating better than any of the others. His spear and shield skills are also quite good. Like Allayad, he is an able crewman, but despite his brothers efforts, can’t read a chart or use navigational instruments. Deerborn is also quite pious, and often seen as superstitious by the others. Physical- Almost as tall as Allayad, but much heavier set. Wide shouldered and strong, with short legs and a long torso. Dark brown hair, dark skin, gray eyes. Personality at a glance-Deerbon is very stoic, with a laconic sense of humor, and has a very spartan outlook on most of life. He is somewhat agoraphobic, which never really comes up in the Town, unless there is a large group of outsiders. He is ultimately dedicated to his family and his clan. Allayad- Deerbon has a huge love and great respect for Allayad. For Deerborn, Allayad represents all that is right with filial piety and familial obligation. Allayad is kind, virtuous, and smart, and brings a great deal of respect to his family and the clan Fal. Deerbon will back up Allayad in almost anything, except his more reckless plans. Allen- Deerborn adores his younger brother, but is not “protective” of him in the normal sense. They are “Irish twins”, born withing a year of each other, and treat each other more as peers with no real age difference. It is very clear to Deerborn that Allen’s brains make him more than capable of taking care of not only himself, but also anyone around him. If anything, Deerborn just needs to remind Allen about his place in family and clan, and not let Allen’s curiosity lead him too far astray. Jain- Deerborn regards Jain with a great deal of affection, but wishes that Jain would just let Allayad run the show without so damn many questions. If anyone should be giving advice, it’s Allen, who is clearly the smartest of the bunch. Lauren- Deerborn is very grateful to have someone else who is level-headed and cautious around, or, at the very least, someone who isn’t totally oblivious to reckless danger.
